Diy Dalek Denim Jacket

This dalek I made was originally supposed to be sewn onto a t-shirt, but I decided to sew it onto a denim jacket! I never wore this denim jacket so I spiced it up a bit with a felt Dalek! I wear this so much more than I did before! In fact, I'm wearing it right now! I got many compliments from fellow whovians!

Materials used:

Yellow felt fabric
Black felt fabric
White felt fabric
Needle
Black thread
Denim jacket
A pencil or fabric chalk to mark the fabric with

Instructions

1. Draw the  dalek shape onto the yellow felt fabric.

2. Draw a rectangle that is a bit longer than the base of the dalek shape on the black felt.

3. Draw  enough small circles on the black felt so they will fit nicely on the bottom part of the dalek. I cut out 12.

4. Now, draw a thin rectangle that will fit across the middle part of the dalek on white felt.

5. Draw a thicker rectangle that will fit a little above the white rectangle on black felt.

6. Draw 2 thin rectangles on the white felt to make the arms. Make sure that one is a little bit longer than the other, to make the whisk.

7. Draw a small half circle on the black felt to make the plunger on the dalek's arm.

8. Draw a shorter, thin rectangle on the white felt. This will make the long, eyepiece type thing on the dalek.

9. Draw a very small, thin rectangle on the white felt. This will be the small part on the eyepiece.

10. Draw a small circle on the black felt. This will be the eye on the dalek.

11. Now cut out all of these peices.

12. Put everything in place and pin them.

13. Sew it all thogether.

14. Sew the dalek onto the denim jacket.

15. Woohoo! Your dalek denim jacket is complete! EXTERMINATE!!

Sherlock/Johnlock pillowcase

So a couple weeks ago I went to an overnight camp and I thought it was a perfect oppourtunity to show off my love for the bbc television series, Sherlock. I mean, in what other circumstances can people see your pillowcase?

Materials used:
Navy coloured fabric ( you can use any color I just picked navy)
White felt fabric ( I picked felt because it is easy to work with)
Thread
Needle or sewing machine
Pins
Iron

Instructions:

1. Take the navy fabric and fold it in half.

2. Find a pillowcase you already own and lay it down on the navy fabric.

3. Mark where the pillowcase is on the fabric with fabric chalk or a pencil.

4. Cut out the fabric. This will be the pillowcase

Now for the design

5. Use a pencil and write the letters I-A-M-L-O-C-K-E-D on the white felt.

6. Now write the letters J-O-H-N on the extra navy fabric. ( you can make it say sherlocked instead of johnlocked if you prefer. I put down Johnlock because I ship johnlock ☆)

7. Draw out 4 rectangles on the white felt that will fit the letters.

8. Cut out the letters and rectangles.

9. Sew the letters J-O-H-N onto the white rectangles.

10. Take out the big peice of navy fabric you cut out earlier and fold it in half.

11. Position the letters on the fabric and pin them onto the fabric.

12. Sew the letters onto the fabric.

13. Now choose the end of the pillowcase that you will keep open and fold about 2 inches of the edge and iron it down. ( the ironing is optional but I did so it would stay there better.

14. Sew the folded part so there is a clean end and the fabric will not fray

15. Sew all the sides together and volia! Your Sherlock pillowcase is done!
